 3 nights in

  WARSZAWA

Day 1

I was born in Poland but i'm shameful to admit it was my first real trip in its Capital City Warsaw, and it was amazing! So many wonderful places to see, and food to eat... Never enough time...

This is one of the first views i saw, "Palace of Culture and Science".
We walked to the hotel for the sake of seeing as many things as we could on our way and to get to used to the streets, we will need it for later. And among this vast space belonging to this city, the best place to get lost was the underground passage, almost every single time we passed by there, we got lost and took us time to figure out which is the right exit. (The easiest exit was to our hotel because we just learned its name by heart.) And it was impossible to cross the street instead, unless we want to waste time and go around.

The underground was full of shops, and food, and also a good place to exchange money. Not seen on this picture obviously... I just liked these posters.

My hotel choice was really good, an old building with modern interior right in the center of the city with a very good price and nice people who work there. Here is its link: http://loft.senpszczoly.pl/
It really had a youth vibe and a special detail about this hotel was that each room had a different design theme and name on the door, i guess related to the design. Our room's name was "Grassland".

There was also a very cool kitchen available for all the guests, it is also where they served breakfast for those who wanted to include it in the payment, i preferred to try as many restaurants as i could instead, as i can or even over my ability, true story... Yes, i was walking around rather exploding full or ok full, never hungry.

We left our suitcase and bags in the lobby because we arrived too early, and went to discover places, it was not time to waste time.
First i ate in a place called "Marak",  only because it's name means "Soup" in hebrew and i live in Israel... I asked about the name, and indeed they meant it to be this hebrew word, it wasn't an coincidence. They served home style food.
Then we headed to the "Kaiserpanorama", called "Fotoplastikon" in polish, but right next to it we discovered shop with hand made and well decorated gingerbreads. They also tasted good, had an aftertaste of clove i think, in a good way of course. Great gift idea.

The "Fotoplastikon" is a place where you can watch very old photographies of the city in a interesting way, i guess this is how they used to do it once upon a time.

It didn't take too long to watch all the old photographs, it would be easier if i knew the city better so i could connect to how it looks today, i didn't know the streets names written there, but i was amazed how beautiful the city looked before the WW2, and how they managed to build it back after so much damage caused to it.

Enough looking, it's food time again! And this is my favorite restaurant. The design is very cosy inside, the waitresses wear some sort of national costumes, all females, and the food is amazing! The place is called "Zapiecek" and there are few of them in Warsaw, i understood that they also have branches in Krakow and that's it, only those two cities. Their speciality are polish dumplings.

The food was served in nice polish countryside style.
Polish dumplings, these specific ones were stuffed with cabbage and they were fried with pork scratching on the top, yum!
So what was next? The National Museum of Warsaw, right before we hit back the hotel. There were lots of interesting paintings of different styles, statues and my favorite thing: museum shop! Because they always have interesting stuff to sell like cool books, notebooks, pens... I bought an interesting book with short philosophical stories for kids (with morals), and found playing cards i was looking for with kind of vintage pictures.

This is how it looks on the way in.

This is how it looks on the way out.
Here are almost all the pictures i took inside the museum, stuff i didn't want to forget in case i wanna look at them again, mostly fragments of drawings, stuff that caught my eyes:  https://plus.google.com/photos/103703972820476358300/albums/6157336764937938289

And it was about time to walk back to the hotel to finally do a late check in.

The suitcase and bags were there safely waiting for us, and the room was impressive. It contained lots of big metal lamps/reflectors, hanging from the ceiling and standing on the floor, with a huge "cows" wallpaper. I wonder what wallpapers other rooms have.

Bathroom Door
So i told my mom we should go out again to eat something, as if we didn't eat enough.
And while walking down the street, i kept on seeing "old mixed with modern" everywhere. Example:

There were lots of cars of this type...

I was looking for some restaurant, there were so many i just had to choose, but how can i know my choice is the best? We can't know, we just have to make the best of our choice.
Then i saw a cupcake place, i had to try it! It was evening so that's all they have left, but all i needed were two.

I took the "Peanut Butter" and "Red Velvet", and they were amazing! My last cupcake memory was that they were too sweet, but those were perfect.

Peanut Butter
Red Velvet
Simply delightful

The place is called "Cupcakes Corner" and here is its site, worth checking because they have many more amazing flavors. https://cupcakecorner.pl/cupcakes

Right on the other side of the street was the restaurant i decided to sit in. It was "U Szwejka" (Over Svejk's), it's a hero from the book: "The Good Soldier Svejk". The place was an authentic Czech bar, the food was not to die for but for a pub, it had pretty big diversity of dishes and was not bad. It's definitely a good place to sit over beer with friends.

Hard choice...

Day 2

On the next day, my plan was to go to a restaurant called "Tel-Aviv". I already heard the: "You are in Poland trying Israeli food??" but seriously, i was very curious if it was good and what they serve how they serve, i felt it was a must. We went out early cause i had lots of plans ahead.
On the way, i saw an interesting shop, never seen such thing:

All kinds of brushes i never seen in my life... I wonder what they are all used for, except the obvious ones.
The "Tel-Aviv" place wasn't open yet, we had about one hour to wait, so meanwhile we went to sit and wait in another place "just to drink some tea", yeah sure, as if i can control myself... The place was still empty, we were the first costumers, no complaints on that one.

What i most liked about this place was that they had lots of new and very interesting magazines, i checked all those concerning travel and food, while my mom did the same with the beauty and health magazines. I even bought one magazine because of them later on, because here they were not for sale.

I ordered cheese cake with some chocolate cookies on the top. Loved the combo with the orange.

And thanks to this place, i discovered flowers that were new to my eyes, they were standing outside in the entrance and looked amazing. The waiters didn't know their name, i had to ask about it in the flowers shop across the street. Fuchsia flowers:

It was a bit rainy and cold to me, didn't want to return to the hotel to take something warmer, so after having some tea and cake we went to look for some winter hat to avoid the wind in my ears.

Found my new hat in one of the shops in the underground passage, and i even found some more stuff in one of my favorites shops "Empik", it's a book store. In this specific one i saw the largest diversity of magazines, i didn't know so many of them exist. There were two walls full of them. And like in almost all book stores, they had lots of cool games, office stuff and such, my weakness.

We have also seen tourists from Asia, hard for me to say from which county, but my point is that it was really cute of him to carry his and her suitcase...

And then we finally arrived to "Tel-Aviv"! It says that they serve breakfast all day, i like that idea, something like "Benedict" in Israel, just different kinds of breakfasts.

It was not the first time i saw in Warsaw windows with pillows to sit on in coffee shops, i think it is a very cute idea, i hope they will adopt it in Israel too, if they haven't yet, feels very cosy to sit there.

The place contained all kinds of photographs from Israel, and israeli flags. And the toilet sign was written in hebrew.

The "shakshuka" was really good! I swear it was better than many places in Israel. The pita was not exactly a pita, but besides it, i would give it a pretty good rating.

The next station was the "Kopernik Museum", we had to take tram to get there, and walk a bit.

It's good that we walked cause this way we have seen the river and its famous statue of a warrior mermaid, and other things. Walking is almost always a better idea, if the weather is right.
My mom got really stuck on this one:

She said it's exactly how school desks used to look when she was a kid.
And she even told me to take my legs off it, and guess who didn't. Please mom, let me express myself.

A good few minutes rest, my feet deserve it after walking that much.

The mermaid statue by the river was in a very neat park:

On the right, not so well seen, is the Warsaw's stadium.
I still didn't know i'm close to the river, until i continued walking forward inside the park, and it was not on the way to the museum, good thing i checked the depth of it. Thank you curiosity.
And here she is, standing tall by the Vistula river:

This mermaid (Syrenka) is a symbol of Warsaw.
There are few legends about her, about how she got there and why she is armed but what i liked was that they say that this mermaid is the sister of "little mermaid in Copenhagen" and they have chosen different direction and got separated when they were in the Baltic sea.

And now we are approaching the "Kopernik Museum". Here is a link to its official site:
 http://www.kopernik.org.pl/en/

There were lots of trips from schools to this place, what you see outside is not all, most of them were inside, and all the tickets were sold! We were lucky we found a guy who bought tickets and was selling them, i still don't know if he changed his plans and tried to get rid of the tickets or if he was making money that way, anyway, the most important thing was that after disappointment of "no tickets" came excitement of "we're in".
In the box office we each received a card that looked like visa card, with which we could exit, enter and use all kinds of devices inside. There was a transparent box for this cards next to the exit, for those who go home, but i kept mine for souvenir.

The first place i went to was the temporary exhibition i already saw on internet earlier, before my flight to Poland, they were microscopic photographs and videos of all kids of organisms. Not something to be found on internet, there r microscopic pictures but not these ones exactly.
The least disgusting picture for those who are not into these stuff is this i think:

Filamentous Conjugating Algae
Here are rest of the pictures from this exhibition for interested:
 https://plus.google.com/photos/103703972820476358300/albums/6171450744976692113

In this Museum, there were lots of fun scientific experiments, games and cool stuff to see.

All sorts of wheels from all times.

On the left- "making huge bubble from two strings" and on the right- one of the games, this specific one was messing up with our head, what you see is not what you feel, you have to put four puzzle pieces together but the tricky part is that you have to move the piece up for it to go down, and left for it to move right. Challenging.
There was another game for two players i liked, one was sitting inside a tiny room with a screen containing emojis such as "relaxed, scared etc..." The person outside had also emojis to choose and buttons that messed up with the room's ambiance (room's lights color, sounds and all kinds of vibrations of the chair). The person inside had to guess what ambiance the person outside was trying to set by pressing on one of the emojis, and if it was the same, then the person setting the ambiance nailed it.

The "High Voltage Theater" was cute, it inspired me to buy my own "plasma lamp". Here is a picture from there:

And i even found a cute video on the page of this "High Voltage Theater", it doesn't really show the place, but they do try to make a point, with a sentence at the end saying: "What will you do when all electricity will go off?" (It's not a spoiler, it's just that this sentence is written in polish in the video...) And fifteen dark first seconds at the beginning of the video on purpose: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkfYoVxwEbU (No, the link is not broken and your computer is fine.)

I'm not sure
if i should
gain or
lose some
weight.

And we are back to the center, looking for place to eat.

It was called "Na Brackiej" and it was not best choice of the restaurant this time, the food was not wow but expensive, but the design was cute. It was "fancy restaurant wanna be":

The free starter was cute though, but simple, but free...

My mom took duck and she said it was not well done, that to cook a duck, one really has to know how, well i am not an expert of that, i had no choice but to trust her on that one. But really, for this price, they should have organize the food nicer on the plate, come on, i'm eating here with my eyes!

On the way back to hotel, i spotted chocolate shop. It was E.Wedel, the high quality polish chocolate, something like israeli Max Brenner. I bought few perlines and some other sweets, i didn't sit there to try what they serve because i knew they have this place in Lodz, the next city i'm gonna be in. (And yes i was there twice, and they had chocolate macaroni with ice cream!)

When the selling woman was packing my perlines, and she took time cause it was complicated, i walked around trying to catch every detail of the place. In all the food places, the marketers were very nice about the idea of taking pictures, but still, i asked just in case... I saw some kind of googles stuck to the wall, so i looked through them, and there was a secret edition of "Kama Sutra perlines", i would buy it if it wasn't that pricey.
I also seen these:

On the left- ice cream inside fruits, and on the right- chocolate mostly with polish names on it. I bought it for my friends in Lodz and they said "it's so sweet", so i guess it makes a nice souvenir gift.

There are lots of "Shawarma" places, not only in Warsaw but in Lodz too, i don't know about other cities, but i guess as well.

Fast refreshment at the hotel and we are on our way to the old city of Warsaw, it was pretty far, but we walked through main streets so it was worth it.
Places i have seen on the way:

Frida (the painter) restaurant

The one kilometer long street called "Nowy Swiat" (New World) was full of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops of all kinds. It was the street that leaded to the "Old City".

And all kinds of monuments that look pretty with all those lights in the dark:

And right before the entrance to the "Old City', we stopped at "Zapiecek", it's the polish dumplings place just different branch than before, there are many of them in Warsaw.
Ok, it was the only place they told me not to take pictures of the interior, it looked really nice inside. I liked the lamps hanging from the ceiling. On the wall of the stair case (because they also had sitting places in the basement) there wrote "dumplings" in all kinds of languages. There were corners with books on the shelf, and in the basement there was a corner for kids with books, tv with cartoons and even little horses to sit on.

And there were all kinds of funny stuff written in polish on some walls, mostly with rhymes.
I ordered one of my favorites, dumplings with strawberries in sweet cream and we also took sangria, it was huge!

And now we are in the old city:

Most of the shops were closed already, but this souvenir shop was opened. I took some pictures of the kitchen "tools" because they look nice when they are together, if i would buy one, they would lose their charm.

On the way out from the old city, i got stuck on those. I think these are posters of polish movies (could be plays), i didn't check about it yet.

What caught my eyes were the pretty photographies, i looked at them one by one and took pictures of those i liked the most so i can observe them a bit more when i'll be home and in the right mood for it. They are very inspiring.

And then i have seen this and had to go one by one and took picture of every potential movie to watch. Besides, i love to judge movie by its poster. So far, i have seen one from this list, not bad, but hard life situations, had to watch animation after watching it so i won't have nightmares,

It was already really late and time to go back and get some sleep, i had day full of plans ahead.

Good night Warsaw

Day 3

We received a sunny day, the sky looked great!

And we were on our way to eat breakfast in a place i found on internet. The special thing about it was its location which was inside book store. The place is called "Mito". And from my seat it looked like this:

The food was ok, looked cute enough to me, at least they had bacon. I didn't like the quaker, it was too solid, so i gave it to my mom. But it's just because i am used to the way i prepare it.

My next station was "Lazienki Park", the largest park in Warsaw, but i didn't know i will want to stop in other places on the way, i didn't know about them. These sweet distractions...
First was the "Ujazdowski Park" and it looked like that:

Then i saw how workers put grass:

And next we passed by the "Botanic Park", i couldn't say "no" to it so we went in and spent few hours inside.

This is how it looked when we entered.
There were lots of all kinds of trees, plants and flowers planted outside.
I really liked the little houses made for bees and lady bugs. Some of them looked like this:

Bee House
Lady Bug House
Here is link with almost all the pictures i took there, mostly plants and flowers:
 https://plus.google.com/photos/103703972820476358300/albums/6172128975547285361

And then we saw amazing coffee shop in the middle of the botanic park, from its outside view i knew it was a good one, but i didn't want to stuff myself with food because today i planned to go to a very special restaurant.
The coffee shop in this park is called "Flora Caffe".

Crepe in lemon and orange sauce, really delicious.
After this little moment of rest, we entered the greenhouses. There were three of them, each with different kinds of plants. The one i liked the most was with the carnivorous plants among others, and they amaze me, the way they work, nature is amazing. There were kinds of them i've never seen before, like this one for example:

In one of the greenhouses were plants and trees i am used to in Israel, so i wasn't too excited to see them. But the cactuses were pretty fun.

It looks so fluffy and inviting to touch... Maybe that's the whole point.

On the way out, there were these amazing huge trees with yellow flowers, as big as they look on the pictures, they were bigger. I just remember that i felt that i didn't succeed to take the right pictures to emphasize their true vibe.

Laburnum, commonly called "golden chain"

And just as i thought that now we are really gonna reach this "Lazienki Park", i noticed another little park and there was a"tea shop" (like coffee shop but they didn't serve coffee...) right in its entrance, place with many many kinds of tea to order. On the menu they even wrote how many minutes should each tea be left inside the hot water before being poured in the mug.

What a timing, there was exactly some temporary exhibition of landscapes photography, hung along the fence of the "Lazienki Park", so i checked it out before entering. It were mostly aerial photographies from all around the world. It looked something like that:

Ile de Re - France
I also entered a little souvenir shop in the entrance, i had to check out what they "hide":

And finally, "Lazienki Park". It was huge and neat, everything around was so very green and well taken care of. Most beautiful park i have ever seen. And i'm not saying that because i am polish.
Here are most of the pictures from this park:
 https://plus.google.com/photos/103703972820476358300/albums/6172610986748669857

I was mostly amazed by the animals living there. There were lots of "mandarin  ducks" walking freely and not afraid of people. They are so colorful and pretty:

But i lost my interest in them as soon as i noticed a squirrel. She ran on a tree so i was trying to follow her with my eyes. They are so funny, they move fast and freeze and so on and on. At the end, not only she got down from the tree, but she started to climb on me and on my mom, i think she climbed on me three times, it was a refreshing feeling, i would never expect that to happen. It was hard to photograph her climbing on me, and she was doing it very fast. Was she thinking i'm some kind of tree? Probably looking for food... It's not a good example to let a squirrel climb on you, they can transfer diseases, but "oh well"...

This is how it looked on the other side:

Then she ran to hide because she found something to eat.

The zoo show was not over yet. Duck family arrived, they were so cute!!!

And they were not afraid neither. The mom was just protecting her little from a crow that came there at some point. People were feeding the littles because they were so sweet, and maybe their mom was making sure the crow doesn't steal their meal.

We kept on walking and saw "married couple to be" having their photo-shoot, it's definitely a perfect place for that.

As we kept walking, we noticed this park was full of squirrels, i saw two squirrels playing with each other, looked like some kind of "tag game":

This park is defiantly a place i will return to in my next visit, i didn't have enough time to see all. I even didn't enter all the monuments, they are not open till late. This is one of them:

At this point, we were looking for the restaurant i was dreaming of to go to, it was suppose to be somewhere there. The restaurant is called "Atelier Amaro", it's a new concept of restaurant, very modern, and it doesn't work by menu, the order choice is rather "5 moments" or "8 moments" (5 little dishes or 8 of them), it is very expensive but worth it. Here is its site: http://www.atelieramaro.pl/
The view during the search was amazing:

And at last we found it, it was close but outside the park. It looked very simple from the outside:

atelier Amaro, "where nature meets science"
We entered and asked for a table for two but we were told that we need to order place at least two weeks in advance! That was disappointing, but now i know, i hope they will still be open when i'll return on my next visit.
I had second option of a restaurant written in my "travel copybook" i prepared in Israel, but first i wanted to check what are those other buildings close to this one:

That was a coffee shop, it was cute but i didn't want to sit there, i knew that my second choice was better. When i entered to peek a bit, i noticed they had a picture hung on the wall with a nicely written word in hebrew saying "corn".
We had to go back to the park cause this is where the restaurant was. This time we have chosen a dangerous shortcut, but it was exciting. (Just sharp uphill instead of going around like we came.)
In the park we asked few people where the restaurant is, it felt like everyone was telling us different direction. So again we saw all kinds of places on the way like this chinese looking something:

This amazing looking monument:

And i even grabbed a snack, i loved these when i was a kid. Some sort of cream horn but the "horn" tasted like a "much better version" of ice cream cone.

And here is our restaurant "Belvedere":

First we sat outside, this is where we received our free starters:

They served black buns! The bread was amazing, really. On the other plate it was some kind of fish with some veggies and strawberry, interesting combination.
I almost ordered "bambi" but changed my mind. It was getting a bit cold, so asked to go inside, and good thing we did cause it was simply beautiful.

Our dishes looked perfect. Just how i like it.

my dish

my mom's
What i also liked about the interior was that it felt very isolated in the given table, i didn't see no one but us, surrounded by lots of plants. There were also tables on some sorts of balconies, one table per each balcony, looked very inviting.

And here is a close up of our deserts. They were to die for.

They also had a black toilet paper in the WC. This restaurant was for sure a very pleasant experience. Highly recommended. Here is a link to this place: http://www.belvedere.com.pl/en/

And we are out, aiming to the exit. While walking we saw beautiful and so well taken care of "lilac trees". I would even say "healthy looking", and they smell so good.

There were also "forget-me-not" flowers combined with white "tulips":

This place was truly romantic:

We went out and started to look for a bus that will take us to the hotel or any near, we walked so much today that i had enough. En route i saw a place called "cabbage with peas", it's a polish dish i wanted to "check", so even though we were freshly after one of my best meals of my life, i decided to enter. Funny thing was that they didn't serve this dish, the name of the place is confusing. But the waiter said that they are new and they haven't found the right recipe for :cabbage and peas" yet. So if we were already in, we each took some polish traditional soup, two different kinds so we could exchange as usual. And there were all sorts of board games, so we played checkers while eating.

The green soup is made of sorrel, must be pretty weird for those who are not used to it. I like it with egg inside.
When we were in the tram, and already close to to our hotel, i saw a rainbow from the window, so as soon as we got down, i went to look for it:

 The sky looked so beautiful:

And what i also noticed that evening and liked was how they arrange the bicycles for rent, not in one line but one in front of the other:

My mom was looking for some specific wine called "Mogen David" because we wanted to use the pretty kitchen at our hotel, so we went down there and played some games and had a glass of wine.

Tomorrow is the last day and there are still so many places i planned to see according to my "travel copy book".

Day 4

We woke up early (not different than other days), packed our stuff and did an early check out and left our suitcase and bags in the lobby, because we wanted to take advantage of maximum day we can, without intention to come back to this area by 12:00 to check out. Today i allowed us to take bus everywhere to save as much time as we could. The first destination was the garden on the roof of the University's Library. The building outside was so pretty!

Inside it looked like this:

When i think about it now, it's so obvious where the garden is located, but when we were inside the library, we asked few people and it was confusing. The garden was bigger than i expected, it was very modern and contained diversity of plants i have never seen, like this for example:

 Arctique Kiwi

Amazing how each leaf is differently pink and even white.
The garden was mostly divided into two parts, the down stairs and upstairs. This is how the down part looked:

And there was also a little pond:

The upper part had amazing view on the bottom:

There was a window through which we could sneak and peek on the yet closed library:

We descended to the lobby, bought little sandwich to kill the hunger in one of the coffee shops of the library, and waited for our transportation right on the other side of the street, to take us to the old city, there was a restaurant we wanted to try, my mom said it belongs to some famous actress and it's a very successful place. Besides, we were only there at night and almost everything was closed, and there are few more places inside the old city itself that is on my list.
While waiting for the bus, i noticed that on the back of the library's building, there were writings craved on the wall in all kinds of languages. These were the "8 big copper panels representing the realm of knowledge, memory and writing".  There are excerpts from all kinds of sources like stuff written by Plato, Bible, some Arabic and Indian classics, mathematical formulas, music compositions and more...
It looks like this:

I wonder what exactly is written there. And i also realized i didn't go around all the building, lesson for the future.
While approaching our destination i had to take this picture:

I don't know why sleeping people in public attract my camera, but as i took it, a female approached me and said she also thought of doing it. I know how it feels when you want to do something but feel uncomfortable, i decided not to let this feeling get in my way, at the end i live with myself and what i create. We arrived very fast to where we wanted to, which is "old city", from the entrance we came from, it was exactly where the market was, called "Jarmark". It had all kinds of stuff, from food to hand made stuff... Example:

Straight after this place, we went to make a reservation in the "Polka  Magda Gessler" restaurant, and we had about an hour to walk around.
I've seen lots of places that serve colorful ice creams, but i didn't try it.

Instead i took a waffle with whipped cream, and there was extremely a lot of whipped cream.

In Poland as far as i remember, those waffles were bought in ice cream places of this kind, and served rather with whipped cream on top or with powdered sugar, no ice cream and chocolate or stuff like that on the side. Just simple and yummy.
While i was eating it, sparrow sat on the table, and ate from my hand. First time i meet such a brave sparrow. There was another one that was standing on the other side of the table, and funny thought, he was thinner than the brave one...

The St. Anna's Church got just opened, a tower with 150 stairs that lead to the terrace. I counted, there were 150 indeed.

And the view from the top was amazing:

Just as we descended, there was a tempting shop with simple typical polish stuff, i could not resist it.

We took one slice of bread with lard (pig's fat with pork scratching) and pickled cucumber on the top, and the yellow thing is smoked ewe's milk cheese made in the Tatra Mountains, it's called "Oscypek" in polish. (Tatra are the polish mountains.)
It started to rain a bit, luckily it was the hour to go to the restaurant where we reserved places, but the rain made the streets look so pretty:

The interior of the restaurant was unique and somehow warm, maybe because of the big curtains by the windows.

We ordered warm wine to compensate us for the rain. And while waiting for our order, i wrote on my palm all the streets names i want to see next. By that point, i was tired of pulling out my "travel copy book" each time and besides, now they all fitted my palm.
One of the dishes we ordered was "Kaszanka" which is a blood sausage and it was served with apples, nice combination:

We also took knuckle turkey in cranberry sauce with horseradish mashed potatoes, it was my first time eating it and it was delicious. Great flavor melting in the mouth, well cooked meat. We also took potato pancakes, but i am used to the sweet version, and here they were served with regular cream without sugar, not what i expected.

When we finished eating, we checked other rooms of this restaurant, because it was all divided into rooms, the place was really big and it looked like apartment. Something like the old "Catit" in Israel. One of the rooms looked like this:

It was more for events, it had long table and very bright, the room where we sat was darker and had a bit different style:

Outside "Magda Gessler", right on the corner, something made me smile. It was this yoga man, he really amused me with what he wrote:

Creative idea to beg for money. Talking of creative, when we were on the way to Marie Curie's museum, we saw two wedding cars nicely decorated:

Marie Curie's Museum was no longer where it used to be in the past, but the drawing on the wall is still there, the museum moved to the other side of the street.

The building with the drawing is where Marie Curie was born. The museum is devoted to her life and work, it contains some of her personal items, stuff she wrote, old photographies... But honestly, i expected more than that, seemed to me it had very few objects.

On the left is a letter written by her (interesting handwriting) and on the right is her genealogical tree.

My next plan was to get out from the old city and find some transportation to take us to the other side of the river, totally different hood, there were few places i wanted to inspect.
We had to walk a while to get to the main street but on the way we saw this:

Looked like some spot of observation, but of what? I only realized that when we went down the stairs. It was the "Multimedialny Park Fontann", it's a huge fountain that has its shows on specific hours. I unchecked it from my list because i didn't believe i would have time to reach it, and because i didn't see how i can make time to be there on the exact hour of the show. So they were not with music right now, but now i know exactly where they are. And this is how they look on their best: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kTq6QsD37k

We found tram to take us to the other neighborhood, the first place i wanna go there to is the "Mala Street" (translated "Small Street") and it really was short. The reason i wanted to see it was because it's a street that was not renovated and many famous movies were filmed there like "The Pianist" or "Korczak". This is how this street looks:

I found there a carpet hanger, this was one of my childhood'n games, we used to do all kinds of tumbles on it:

We met a woman that told us how they filmed movies on that street, and that those who live there were paid, she saw most of them from the window. She was very nice, she helped us to figure out where we have to go to take bus to the next spot.

Right next to the bus station, there was an old lady sitting and selling lily of the valley, one of my favorite flowers. My mom told me to ask her for the direction just to make sure and she started to say how she grows those flowers in her garden and came to make some money, it was cheap so i bought one to make her feel good, but since i had nothing to do with them, i told my mom to give it to a random lady to make her smile. And so she did.

When we got down, we asked how to get to the Neon Museum, the couple we asked were exactly on their way there, so we somehow followed them. In the middle of the way there was a wall i really liked:

This is the close up of the wall on the right. Nice piece of work, and there was a pigeon sitting on each window, they match well the colors.
I also liked the stone path with grass growing from in between.

And we arrived to the SOHO factory where the Neon Museum is:

This is how this "factory" looked inside:

The buildings were made of red bricks. And again amazing car in that neighborhood too.
And we found the Museum:

Inside there were all kinds of logos made of neon lights, glowing and some not connected to the electricity. The place was small, it took us few minutes to check all out. And theirs souvenir shop are few stuff found next to cashier's table.

It's all cute, but not something to come especially for, unless someone wants to buy something there or reserved place in the restaurant comes here before or after.

On the left- "Syrenka", the warrior mermaid, Warsaw's symbol.
I think this one was my favorite because of the font:

My next plan was to go to a coffee shop which is outside this factory but somewhere in the hood, because it had umbrellas as a roof outside, looked cute on internet, but then i saw a coffee shop called "Szklarnia" (greenhouse). There was a tiny greenhouse indeed but maybe it was also called like this because there were blankets everywhere for those who are cold...(sort of different kind of greenhouse effect) This place was "kids friendly", had all kinds of objects kids like to play with.

It was getting a bit cold, so i took chicken soup and sweet tomato cheese cake, just because it sounded weird:

From here, we took tram back to the hotel area, there was another museum i wanted to check, there was a book shop inside and i saw few books on their website that interested me.
It was "Museum of Modern Art", and they didn't have the books i wanted but i found a really cute "Alice in the wonderland notebook".
Here is an example of one of their modern arts:

From far it looks completely something else, who would guess those are childish stickers?
In the entrance there was coffee shop together with the books store, and it was a small one. The museum was right next, and it wasn't big itself, but it is definitely a nice place to come to chill a bit and wash the eyes at the same time. What i liked the most about the coffee shop was that they had a diary where everyone could write whatever they want.

Of course first i checked all its pages, i was curious what other people wrote:

coffee stains, how creative
So i wrote: "From Tel-Aviv to Warszawa" and wrote my name i use for my photographies signature.
(I am from Ramat-Gan, but who will understand? Anyway, it is so close to Tel-Aviv like almost none city is close to another city abroad.)

That's not coffee, that's hot cacao with a straw...

It was about time to take our suitcase from the lobby, and so we did, just one little problem, my sweet overweight suitcase broke its handle right when i was trying to drag it into the elevator. I had nothing else to do but to laugh hard at this situation. It was not the right time to happen because we had few minutes walk to the bus station, which turned into an hour walk, i had to be very creative how to carry this super heavy thing.

The real trouble was to carry it in Lodz to my mom's apartment, which is on the 3d floor... But anyway, we arrived to the train station, had some spare time, i bought some snack in "Costa Coffee" for the ride so i won't be bored, and i went to the toilet and saw this:

That's a really cool idea! Every toilet door had a different poster, but this one was my favorite.
And then we were on our way to Lodz.
We came back to Warsaw in four days because my family from Sweden had a flight back home and we wanted to spend some more time with them. We didn't  really see nothing new, just went to the old city and ate at "Zapiecek", well yeah i took a different dish, and it was some big football game day and there were lots of tourists and football activities.
This is how it looked:

The streets were happy, and some of the tourists were screaming "Putin Kurva"...
Even in the restaurant, when one person started to scream, all the other tourists joined. The waitress told us that we are the first polish costumers today.
And this is what i ordered:

The drinks are: kefir on the left and dry fruits cold compote on the right (it can be also served hot).
The kefir goes really good with the meat.
And i also took my favorite desert, knowing i will not return to this place in a long time:

I ate it previously, these are the strawberry dumplings in sweet cream.
This time we sat in the basement, so i can show you how the kids corner looks:

When we said goodbye to my family from Sweden, and before we go back to Lodz, there was a place i saw all the four days when we traveled in Warsaw and was curious about. I saw the big guitar outside and its name "Hard Rock Caffe".
Inside it was amazing, there were guitars cut in half stuck to the wall:

My conclusion on Warsaw is that four days is definitely not enough, that was too intense and there are still so many places to see and visit. I fell in love with this city and can't wait to return there.
